InDesign tools for beginners

In this video I learned about the smooth pen tool. Now this tool is used to smooth lines that you drew. It is very easy to find and use. When you left click on the pen tool, options will open up and smooth tool is one of them. To use it, all you have to do is left click and drag on the line that you want, and it makes it look smoother and so much better.

In this video, the thing that i learned the most was how many options the text settings had. It had the options like picking the distance between characters, changing the horzontal and vertical scale. This is very nice because it gives the creator the ability to create whatever type of text they desire.

In this video, the tool that interested me the most was the artboard tool. This changes the artboards size and orentation to your liking. It has preset sizes but you can also drag from the corners of the artboard and still move it. This helps be a lot because sometimes I have excess of art of the board that I can not delete without restarting. This is very easy to use and very helpful.

  Artist Statement: I decided to create my calligram a  hand because for me it means to calm down. As we are growing up, time goes by so fast, which is the whole meaning behind my hand. With this project, I wanted to let people know that it is ok to stop sometimes and relax. People need to enjoy every second of life so when something is not going your way, just stop and relax. As I create this piece of art, memories come up of when I was younger and stressing over things that did not matter 6 months later. Life is so fast that people need to do what makes them excited and happy with life. Making business  cards went better than  I  excepted . I really  enjoyed this project  because it gave me a  lot of freedom to create  them however I please.  My favorite cards are the first  two because of the  color gradient. This assignment helped me a lot because I know I will use these skills in the future.
